Zuri Zanzibar

Relax by one of the best beaches on Zanzibar, enjoy watersports, island trips, dhow cruises, pampering spa treatments and a choice of dining venues as you succumb to the lure of life beside the Indian Ocean.

Zuri, meaning beautiful, certainly lives up to its name. Lush gardens lead down to a picture-postcard perfect beach, which unlike most beaches on Zanzibar, is not tidal, so allows for swimming at all times of day. Snorkelling, diving, watersports and sunset dhow cruises make the majority of the water-based activities, complimented by a wide choice of island excursions.

Relaxing is very much part of the ethos here, whether lazing by the infinity pool, topping up your tan on the beach, enjoying a stroll in the spice garden or treating yourself to a massage. There are four bars across the site where you unwind over a drink as you socialise. The resort offers a choice of dining venues, each with its own distinctive style and speciality cuisine including, naturally enough given its location, succulent seafood.

Children are welcome. There are connecting bungalows and villas are ideal for accommodating families. The hotel provides children’s games, a child minding service and special meals to make youngsters feel as at home here as their parents.

Zuri Zanzibar is a member of the Design Hotels portfolio, a collection of privately owned properties selected for their exceptional design, service and commitment to local culture.

The hotel and grounds have been designed to recall a traditional Africa village and the resort has a pleasantly ‘pole pole’, or unhurried, feel, and located just 50 kilometres from the airport, this island getaway is easy to reach. You’ll probably find it harder to leave!

Why Stay?

This is a beach resort par excellence, located on one of the few non-tidal beaches on Zanzibar allowing you to enjoy swimming, snorkelling and watersports throughout the day. Add to this excellent facilities including an infinity pool, choice of restaurants and bars, a spa, open air gym and fragrant spice garden, plus gorgeous Swahili style accommodation, and you’ll understand the allure of Zuri Zanzibar.
