Tloma Lodge

A beautiful and relaxed setting in the midst of beautiful countryside, well placed for visiting Lake Manyara National Park and the impressive Ngorongoro Crater. Comfortable accommodation at a good price point, with friendly and welcoming staff.

Set amongst pretty gardens, the lodge overlooks a working coffee plantation and has views of the extinct Oldeani volcano in the distance. Here you are well placed for visiting Lake Manyara National Park and the impressive Ngorongoro Crater. Comfortable accommodation at a good price point, with friendly and welcoming staff.

The main lodge provides the communal areas for guests where you’ll find the restaurant, lounge area and terrace. This is conveniently located in the centre of the buildings.  The restaurant serves meals lovingly prepared with produce sourced locally and from the gardens on the farm. Weather dependent you can dine indoors or out on the deck.

We think Tloma Lodge is very reasonably-priced lodge and makes a good base for visiting the Crater or Lake Manyara, or if travelling between Arusha and the Serengeti.

Tloma Lodge rooms

The lodge has 24 small cottages built in a colonial style. They are well spaced throughout the grounds and do not feel crowded.  Twelve rooms can be found in the main building overlooking the gardens. The rooms are spacious, the four-poster beds draped with mosquito nets. There is comfy seating and scatter rugs cover the polished concrete floors. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace providing views for you to enjoy. There are interconnecting rooms perfect for families.

Twiga the giraffe likes this because…

“Tanganyika Wilderness Camps, who own Tloma Lodge, have a great charitable foundation which donates to some wonderful projects such as backing the education for Maasai girls, providing a rural clinic for Maasai in northern Tanzania, and building classrooms in Karatu, near Ngorongoro Crater.”

And don’t forget … for every booking we get, Tanzania Specialists plants trees in deforested areas of Africa through The Travel Forest, and we back The Tribes Foundation’s conservation and social projects.
