The Seyyida Hotel

A characterful retreat in the centre of Stone Town with a courtyard garden and swimming pool, as well as a spa and gorgeous rooftop restaurant. If you fancy being in the midst of the bustling fascination of Stone Town, this is a good place to choose.

The Seyyida Hotel is an historic four-storey building that has been meticulously restored and retains much of its original charm in the form of fine architectural details, marble floors and carved woodwork. Situated in the heart of Stone Town the hotel is ideal for sightseeing, exploring the narrow alleys and strolling in Forodhani Gardens, however just bear in mind that being in middle of the town also means that this is not the quietest place you could choose.

The same stylish decor found in the rooms is evident in the communal areas, which include an inviting lounge-bar and a pretty courtyard, both excellent places to rest away from the busy streets outside.

The swimming pool is a real bonus in a city centre hotel, and if you want some pampering you have the benefit of a spa on the premises offering a range of therapies. Meals are a treat, owing not just to the quality of food but also to the location: from the rooftop restaurant you can gaze out over the city and harbour, and enjoy dinner under stars.
