A beautiful relaxed setting in the midst of an authentic working coffee plantation, well placed for visiting Lake Manyara National Park and the impressive Ngorongoro Crater. Comfortable accommodation at a good price point, with friendly and welcoming staff.
The main lodge provides the communal areas for guests. There is a spacious open plan area which houses the dining room, bar and lounge. The thatched roof, white washed walls and brick fireplaces add to the old fashioned colonial farm ambiance. A large open air deck provides another place to relax and enjoy views of the farm and the Oldeani Volcano beyond, sit with a cup of home grown, roasted coffee and feel as though you have stepped back in time. You’re surrounded by 200 hectares of fertile farmland where coffee, wheat and vegetables are cultivated, alongside pretty well kept gardens. You can take a Maasai guided walk around the farm which also has a number of animals such as pigs, cows and sheep.

We think Ngorongoro Farm House is  a very reasonably-priced lodge which makes a good base for visiting the Crater or Lake Manyara, or if travelling between Arusha and the Serengeti.

Twiga the giraffe likes this because…

“Tanganyika Wilderness Camps, who own Ngorongoro  Farm House, have a great charitable foundation which donates to some wonderful projects such as backing the education for Maasai girls, providing a rural clinic for Maasai in northern Tanzania, and building classrooms in Karatu, near Ngorongoro Crater.”

And don’t forget … for every booking we get, Tanzania Specialists plants trees in deforested areas of Africa through The Travel Forest, and we back The Tribes Foundation’s conservation and social projects.
