Price Guide

It’s all about treating yourself. Enjoy gentle pampering at the spa, an energising yoga class and exquisite Michelin-inspired cuisine; all part of your Machweo stay. Add spacious suites, each with its own terrace, landscaped gardens, a floodlit swimming pool and you have the whole experience.

Machweo is designed with your health and wellbeing very much in mind. The peaceful gardens and gentle hospitality invite relaxation, all just a stone’s throw from Arusha, the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It is on the same plot as its sister property, Onsea House – we love both of these places.

For a small, upmarket (and admittedly quite pricey) boutique hotel with excellent personal service, we would look no further – indeed this would be our first choice. And if you like your food, there’s definitely no contest. Dining is a pleasure at Machweo, assured by the services of the Michelin-trained chef-manager who creates dishes that showcase both his skills and the fresh, local produce. This is haute cuisine to savour.

There is also a spa which offers an extensive range of restorative treatments: several types of massage, manicure, pedicure, sauna, hammam and Ayurveda, as well as group and individual yoga sessions, including pre and post Kilimanjaro climb classes. Outdoors you can walk among the blooms in the garden and go for a refreshing swim in the pool.

Twiga the giraffe likes this because…

“Machweo’s owners draw staff from the local area and provide them with help with education and rent. They also help to fund community projects especially those involved in education and training. Community visits can be arranged during your stay.”

And don’t forget … for every booking we get, Tanzania Specialists plants trees in deforested areas of Africa through The Travel Forest, and we back The Tribes Foundation’s conservation and social projects.
