Kuro Tarangire

Luxurious, elegant simplicity in a glorious setting in an acacia grove by the Tarangire River. Nomad Kuro has to have one of the best locations in Tarangire.  You’re in your own private Eden, beautifully secluded yet within easy striking distance of the Silale Swamp, which attracts huge numbers of animals and reptiles. A wonderful safari experience.

This lovely camp is created sensitively in keeping with its surroundings – which is not surprising, as it’s run by Nomad, who know a thing or two about running superb safari camps. It’s luxurious but restrained, and extremely comfortable, yet has minimal impact on the area. You are a – very lucky – guest, passing through.  The area itself is beautiful, with many acacia and kigelia trees, not to mention the Tarangire River. Walking safaris swiftly take you out of camp and into the wilderness, where a wealth of game resides.

In Tarangire you can enjoy fantastic game drives with very few other vehicles, and night game drives – a rare privilege and one you’ll never forget. Wildlife in this area of Tarangire particularly in the dry season is excellent.  The acacia groves attract large herds of elephant and buffalo.  The Tarangire River provides water almost all year round, a huge draw for wildlife. Birdlife is also excellent in this area with a number of endemic species found near the Silale swamp areas.

You’ll return each evening to a warm shower and sundowners, before enjoying a delicious dinner and finally retiring to your room to be lulled to sleep by the songs of the distant hyena.
